The quality of the stairs was quite impressive. They were built like elephants could run up them. I only had two issues, first the gentleman you sent out to do the measurements told the customer that the new stairs would be wider and longer than the existing stairs. And that they would cover the space in the flooring the original stairs left. Unfortunately, the stairs which arrived where actually 3/4 of an inch shorter and 1/2 inch narrower, which required cutting of the finished floor and will require piecing in of flooring to make up the gap. The other problem was the center stringer, marvelously robust, but 1.5 to 2 inches long at each end, instead of being on the same plane as the edge stringers. Luckily, we caught this as the stairs were lowered into place and cut them by hand from underneath. I received my stair order this morning. Jesse was great to work with, fast, efficient, and knew the product well.  was faster than I expected. Stairs look great, and better made than I expected. I did make one mistake, I never expected the stairs to come assembled. We are used to purchasing locally, knock down. A bit more work to get the stairs into position, but less work in assembly. I got two local estimates and contacted Discount Quality Stairs for a third estimate. Discount Quality Stairs sent someone out to measure right away. I was extraordinarily impressed with the knowledge and understanding of the man who came to measure; his attention to detail was obvious. I could tell that he really knew a lot about stairs. We had initially made a decision because of costs to go with Pine stringers and Oak treads. When we got all the estimates back, Discount Quality Stairs was significantly less than the other two local estimates. So much less, that we decided to go with Oak stringers and Oak treads, a complete Oak stair. Additionally, the timeline for delivery was half of the other two local estimates. I place the order online and as stated the stairs were ready in the period of time that they said they would be. A few days later we arranged for delivery and installation. They arrived with a beautiful set of stairs and after a couple hours we had our stairs installed. The installation team did a superb job on a complicated install. DQS has fantastic prices, excellent service, great product and professional installation. You can’t beat these guys.
